I Met Genevieve Cortese on my Roadtrip in Cali

Talk about an awesome way to kick off my roadtrip... So my flight goes like this: DC - San Fran, San Fran- LA, LA - Santa Maria. Orginally it was supposed to be a direct flight. So when I touch down from DC I find out that my connecting flight got canceled, so I'm already prepped for a crappy day. Turns out there was a flight leaving in a half hour from when I landed....problem is it was leaving from the international terminal, I was in the domestic. If you have ever tried running with a sack of potatos on your back then you know how sweaty and miserable I felt when I made it to the gate. So I'm lookin like a hot mess and wasn't really paying attention and then I looked up and next to me was this woman who looked like Genevieve, so I tried to shimmy closer to check out the name on her baggage...no go on that, so instead I just ask "Genevieve....Genevieve Cortese?" She looked a me with a smile and thats when the fan girl comes out....So this is the stuff we talked about:

I asked if filming the final was intense, she said it wasn't really intense but it was hard work but fun...

She said she was going to LA to meet up with Jared at the Airlines gate (so no I didnt see Jared).

I asked if she could ask Jared to come to the NJ convention next year and she said that Jared felt bad that he couldn't make it earlier this year but he was filming at the time and really didnt have the chance. Apparently he caught some crap for not making an appearence even though he couldn't help it.

Then I asked if she would ever consider going to a convention. She said she is going to one in London with Jared but isn't going to speak, shes just going for support. She was kind of worried about how the fans would recieve her because we've kindof sortof been hostile towards her character. I told her it was more that Ruby's charcater was ambiguous. She admitted she felt the same way but the way she saw it was that Ruby had to change her character in order to lure Sam in. In the state he was in after Dean left there was no way he would have listened to mean Ruby. Thats why she played Ruby like that, provided the shouldar to lean on and some one he could feel protective over....which totally makes sense. I told her Ruby's flip in the season finale had me cussing out my tv...she said she was yelling at the tv too ^ ^

Then I asked her whether she was working on anything now. And yup she'll be on a new show called Flash Point (I think I got that right it might be Flash Forward) it sounds pretty cool actually. I dont know if its just an area or the whole world, but basically everyone blacks out for 2 minutes, and during that two minutes they see themselves and what they will be doing in 6 months time. Then when that two minutes is up they are left with the knowledge of what they will be doing in six months but not where or why. It will be on ABC after lost in august. I congragulated her for gettin a show on a major network, not to knock CW or anything (even though I usually do) she said dont worry about it they talk smack just as much as we do ^ ^

I asked her if she was on a mini break for the summer. She said as an actor you never really get a break....you work hard for spurts and then your potentially jobless for a while so its not really the greatest feeling so she likes to keep busy.

Thats when we started boarding the plane and I told her I was going on a roadtrip around california, she asked if I was going to the Winchester Mystery House (which I've been to and that place is bizarre) she also said they joke about filming an episode there one day.

So finally we get on board and I accidentally sit in the wrong seat because I'm sooo distracted from actually getting to chat with Genevieve. I also forgot to ask her for a photo so for the entire hour and a bit of my flight I was thinking about how much of a dork I am, how cool Genevieve is and hoping that I can some how get her photo when we land. She was sitting about 7 rows ahead of me and when we landed I just watched as everyone filed out but I couldn't see her! So I was worried I'd missed my chance. Turns out she staid on the airplane a bit to text someone (prob Jared) so thats when I asked her for a photo, since it would be the first photo of my road trip. She was soooo nice and said sure lets do this outside. SHe actually looked happy that I was so stoked to meet her (which is nice because I didn't want to bother her too much). I took two pictures for good measure, thanked her for her time, told her to tell Jared that his performance in When the Levee Breaks made it one of the best epis of the season and she said Jared would really appreciate it and said she would definitely tell him.

Then she moved for a hug before I even had to ask and then we went on our way. She looked genuinly surprised to be recognized and acknowledged by a Supernatural fan. She is soooo tiny to, I look massive compared to her, she must be 5'3 and super laid back. I can see why Jared likes her.

And thats the end of this obsenely long post. Phew, my roadtrip really kicks off tomorrow. Planned destinantions:

Winchester Mystery House
Santa Cruz Mystery Spot
Various Hauted lodges, Ghost towns
Hollywood Forever Cemetary
Venice Beach Freak Show
Underground Gardens
Jelly Belly Factory
Largest artichoke
and other stuff....
any one have a suggestion?

*ok wow, I only posted this message because I wanted to share how cool Genevieve was. Nobody on this board has said anything negative about myself or Genevieve which is exactly why I post here but apparently word has gotten out and people are being very rude about the situation. Everything that was said was in chill conversation we had. I told Genevieve just as much about myself as she did about herself to me...it was just a normal coversation, what else would you talk about with someone who is attached to your favorite show...the weather??? She never said she was dating Jared, and I didn't ask, for all I know they could be really good friends, she didn't blame Ruby's character on Kripke...of course dialogue goes into developing a character but the way she explained her take on Ruby made absolute sense with the story. It wasn't a PR stunt because thats just stupid, I missed my flight and by chance I managed to get the same flight she did. The negative things people have been saying are unneccesary and uncalled for...I will post pictures when I get back from my road trip but that wont be until the 30th. If this gets blown up any more I will take the post down. I just wanted to share some info with people. If you dont believe me then thats fine with me, you dont have to.*

OMG how awesome is that.....thats so bad that she thinks the entire fandom would be mean..I mean come on..I hated ruby last year ,but I really enjoyed GC's performance....she did great..and I would love to see her at a convention...*sigh* always gotta be a few bad apples that ruin it for the rest of us...

thats awesome, she seems really nice. People can be standoffish at the air port cause they're just trying to get to where they're going but she sounds friendly.

If she ever decides to be a part of one of the cons I hope people are nice. It pretty redic to be mean to GC because u hate Ruby.
But i think people would be nice. Bela and old Ruby didnt get much love last season but people were nice to LC and KC at the cons from what i herd.

I actually thought GC 's Ruby had more fans than KC's ruby but either way...no one should be mean to them ...

I wish GC would do the chicago convention so i could meet her...

I think the show Gen's going to be on is called 'Flash Forward' --which I will have to check out now that I know she's on it!

Ya I think the show she is going to be is Flash Forward not Flash Point. Flash Point is a show but its about Swat Sinpers. And I believe Flash Point is going to be picked up by ABC too.
