"Supernatural" executive producer & director Kim Manners passed away
last night in Los Angeles, following a battle with cancer. Below please find a statement from "Supernatural" creator & executive producer Eric Kripke:

Everyone at 'Supernatural' is walking around in a daze, shocked and absolutely devastated. Kim was a brilliant director; more than that, he was a mentor and friend. He was one of the patriarchs of the family, and we miss him desperately. He gave so much to 'Supernatural, ' and everything we do on the show, now and forever, is in memory of him.

I can't believe he's gone! I didn't even know he had cancer. That's just so devasting. My grandmother died of cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with Kim Manner's friends and family as well as the cast, crew, writers, directors and anyone else who made Supernatural possible for us to obsess over. Kim Manner's will be greatly missed by all! (Why is there not a crying emotion thingy? because that's what I'm doing right now.)

Thank you, Lindsay. The terrible grief of Eric and everyone who worked with Kim comes through clearly in that statement. This news is horrible for fans. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for his family and his extended family at SN.

Lindsay, as a tribute to Kim Manners, we really need a sticky for this thread or a similar one. His loss is certainly one of the most terrible for the SN family. Do you have any idea how to convince the mods to keep your thread at or near the top of p.1 for awhile?

I think the CW and its SN board owes Kim and those who loved and worked with him that measure of respect.

I whole heartly agree. He was a wonderful director. I'm looking at several magazines I have from his Xfiles days with interviews with him in them.

The directing world has lost a star but heaven has gained a new angel............
